Safe Day Studio is now located in Hallandale Beach, FL. With a beautiful training area and private office. Mike is responsible for the creation of all programs at Safe Day Studio. These programs include Reality-based self-defense, Systems of Combative Arts, De-escalation training, Hon Hab Do, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), traditional martial arts, Women’s Self-defense, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He also created and teaches the “Active Shooter Training”, “”, “Staying in the Moment”, "Teen Safety Technique Program", "Women's Self-Defense", Realtor Self-defense”, “De-escalation Training” and the "Rollin' with Safe Day Program", a wheel-chair self-defense program for those who challenge the disease of Spina Bifida every day! Mr. Mike previously owned and operated two martial art academies in Huntington Valley, PA and Ivyland, PA. He now teaches private and public seminars worldwide in addition to the new training facility in Sea Ranch Lakes, FL.

Master seminar with Mark Shuey, Jr., Tenant High School for “College Living” and “Out on my own” curriculum, Indian Creek’s private clients, Bucks County and Montessori Academy and more. He was selected as Security Advisor for Kaplan Career Institute for public safety. Mr. Mike appeared on Fox 29 teaching a segment on pregnant women’s self-defense.
Mr. Mike has spoken at the Bucks County Meta-Physical Society, Lion’s Club of Dania Beach, Christian’s Women’s Club, North Penn Chamber of Commerce, Montgomery County Community College, Girl Scouts of America (created the program for the self-defense merit badge program in Bucks County), Women’s networking groups, Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Temple University, Peace + Love Domestic Violence Event with Sisters in Harmony. He is a regular guest on blog talk radio as a subject matter expert in reality-based self-defense. Mr. Mike developed the “Teen Safety Technique” Program for Holland Middle School. He is the self-defense expert at the Philly Fit retreats in Avalon, NJ and was the Director of the 1st Annual BJJ Tournament at the 2010 WKUHOF Weekend.
Mr. Mike was the primary subject matter expert for, “The Benefits of Martial Arts for Women” an article published in Diet and Nutrition Magazine. Mr. Mike is also Director of Security for many events annually such as the Washington Crossing Brewfest (Summer & Fall), Wine on the Waterfront, Southampton Days, Newtown Beerfest, Brews and Bites, Rocktober Beerfest, Hops on the Hill, Warminster Days, Striker’s Cup, Philadelphia International Tango Festival (4-day event), The International Lithuanian Folk Dance Festival and the Bucks County Fireman's parade and festival. He does armed security and undercover security for special events including high-end jewelry trunk shows. Mr. Mike is the Master of Ceremonies and Ring Announcer for Friday Night Muay Thai fights at the Taj Mahal Casino and Muay Thai Friday Night Fights: The Strikers Cup in Voorhees, NJ. Mr. Mike is the director of security for all Global Proving Ground events.
On January 5. 2014, Mr. Mike published “Staying in the Moment!”: A Practical Guide to Women’s Self-defense available on Amazon and Kindle. Mr. Mike is currently doing public and private women’s self-defense seminars and filming a 4-part DVD involving personal responsibility and intent, titled “Staying in the Moment!” He is currently completing Volume 2. Mr. Mike is also authoring a book showing incredible results using martial arts training with one of his autistic students who he has been teaching for over 30 years. Mr. Mike was a security advisor, trainer, and security agent for the Dania Beach Casino. Mr. Andrus was also hired to be the Manager of Security at the Big Easy Casino in Hollywood, FL.
Hon Hab Do
A system that Mr. Mike inhereted and added many additional components to make it the most effective reality-based system of it's kind. Take what you like, do't take what you don't like. A synthesis of Sanuces Ryu Jiujitsu, Small Circle Jiu Jitsu, Universal Kenpo, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, American Boxing, Edged weapons and staying in the moment. EVERY technique is a finishing technique.
Military/Law Enforcement
We offer our training to military and law enforcement world-wide. Mr. Mike has done training and demonstrations at the DOD, seminars, and one on one training throughout the world. Mr. Mike has done private training and seminars with participants from the DOD, IDF Rangers, Itlaian Carabinieri's, US Armed Force members, other agencies and members from many law enforcement agencies.
De-escalation Training
Mr. Mike provides training to agencies, companies, and individuals (including retail chains, airlines, and security professionals. His de-escalation program includes situational awareness from his "Staying in the Moment" training program and techiques for better, faster and safer de-escalation strategies and outcomes for flight deck officers, flight attendants, gate agents, etc.
Women's Self-Defense
Mr. Mike has been teaching Women's slef-defense since 1996. He developed a program called, "Staying in the Moment!" He wrote a best selling book on the subject in 2014 called: "Staying in the Moment!": A practical guide to Women's Self-defense. Mr. Mike has taught thousands of women, women's groups, and has been a guest speaker for women's advoate groups for over 28 years!

Sho-Dai Soke Mike Andrus is a Professional Martial Arts Grand Master Instructor in good standing with the International Association of Professional Martial Artists. Safe Day Studio is a Martial Arts School in good standing with the International Association of Professional Martial Artists. Mr. Mike was inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame in 2008 and was asked to serve as a board member in 2009. He still holds a board seat with the WKU as of 2023. Mr. Mike served on the board of directors of Awesome Heroes, a 501(c)(3) focused on raising awareness and support for those struggling with PTSD. Mr. Mike also served on the board of directors of the Philadelphia Israeli Chamber of Commerce based in Philadelphia and is currently a senior advisor for the PICC. Mike has also been appointed as a Guardian Angel directly from the group’s founder, Mr. Curtis Sliwa.
Mr. Mike Professional Security Bio
Mr. Mike is currently on assignment, hired as Executive Protection for a multi-billion dollar corporation. Mr. Andrus also provides concierge and facilities management services for this client. In August of 2023, Mr. Mike created, presented, and recorded his “Employee Travel Safety Program” for his current client. This town hall presentation is available for all employees traveling for work or pleasure. The client may now offer it to their customers as a value-added proposition in addition to their underwriting insurance programs. Mr. Mike is currently drafting a US Workplace Violence Plan for his client and has been asked to assist in drafting their global security standards and guidelines policy. Mr. Andrus is currently in discussion with a US-based airline and a well-known major international airline to utilize his de-escalation program which will provide training to their gate agents and flight crews around the world.
Mike has achieved LFI (Lethal Force Institute) Level 1, taught privately. Mike has been an instructor for the World Karate Elite fighting system. Mike is a lethal weapons agent (Act 235) in Pennsylvania, Class D and G Security License in Florida and is a cyber-security advisor for the Federal Agents PBA. Mike also does executive and celebrity protection. Mike provides bodyguard services as #1 agent and driver for Mr. Jake Tapper, CNN’s top political anchor. Mr. Tapper specifically requested Mr. Mike to be his #1 agent for his New York Times #1 Best-seller book signing and lecture tour. Mr. Mike is also an armed bodyguard for CNN/Turner Security protecting their lead anchors during hostile live events. Mr. Andrus is often contracted by Secure SourceSource,one of the most prestigious global physical security firms in the world. Mike provides high level security for Secure Sourcein hostile environments. Mr. Mike has acted as director of executive protection for multiple celebrities in the US and abroad. Mike’s team has worked closely with the Secret Service providing security services for the President of Lithuanian on his visit to Philadelphia. He has been director of security for a high-end supper and night club and security advisor/trainer for the top night club in the Bahamas (Aura). Mike teaches law enforcement and military tactical training to multiple agencies including the DOD.
Mike continues to be selected as the only self-defense demo at the Defense Logistics Agency DOD annual event starting in 2017 with over 3,400 attendees. Mr. Mike was selected as the bodyguard for the 5 living Chiefs of the Lenape Indians Delaware Nation for a once in a lifetime reunion in Pennsylvania for the reinternment of the remains of the Indian Chiefs from the 1600’s. This event was in April of 2022. The famous museum artifact, “The Wampum Belt” was delivered by armored car and wasunder the watchful eye of Mr. Mike and his agents on display at this one-day historical event.
Mr. Mike is currently providing celebrity protection for Christian “The Hurricane” Thun, a WBA (World Boxing Association) heavy-weight title contender, for a 4-fight series in 2024. He provided security at the Hard Rock Live arena inside the world-famous Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (The Guitar) in Hollywood, Florida for the Main event. Mike also acted as Director of Security for a private party (400 invited guests) at the G7 Rooftop Lounge at the magnificent Wyndam Dolce Hotel in Hollywood, FL.
